First of all, it is absolutely incredible that Phil Ivey and Raymer are still in the WSOP main event. It almost makes me think that tournaments are *not* just giant luckfests.
As for myself, I am running very hot in the Party ring games. I've been playing anywhere from 5/10 to 30/60, depending on how I feel and how the game looks. I was following one of my favorite fish around today. He kept moving, so I probably sat with him at 6 different tables. Eventually he noticed and said "Hey, are you following me?" I replied, "No, the games just keep getting short, I'm looking for a full game." Hehe. Anyway, I've won three days in a row and it's been good for $3500, so I'm very pleased.
There's one thing I have to work on. When I win a bunch very quickly, as has been happening lately, I tend to quit the game and lock up the win. Conversely, when I am stuck, I play longer hours to get even. As Barry Greenstein points out, that's exactly the opposite of what you should do. The most profitable strategy is to stay longer when you're winning and less when you're losing. It's just hard to implement. When I sit down and win $1000 within an hour, I tend to quit and lock up the win. I guess that I am trying to dodge variance, but that is impossible to do. Eventually your results must approach their true expectation.
But for now, I'll take my 6 BB/100 and quit.
